How to make printable flashcards

Import a spreadsheet

Paste two columns from Excel or upload a CSV / TSV file: terms or questions in the first column, answers in the second. Check the mapping in Paste / import before adding cards. You can also enter cards individually or add your own pictures.

Print front and back

For double-sided flashcards, choose Double-sided in Print settings and match the printer's long- or short-edge flip to that setting. Print all PDF pages in order, including blank backs, and test on ordinary paper first. For fold-over cards, cut each pair, fold on the dashed line and glue. Single-sided cards leave room to handwrite answers on the backs.

Make 3 × 5 index cards

Choose 3 × 5 in · fixed size in Print settings to use the tool as an index card maker. Download the PDF, print on matching A4 or US Letter paper at 100% or Actual size—not Fit—and cut out the cards. This layout is for full sheets, not feeding individual index cards into a printer.

Frequently asked questions

Is this free, and do I need an account?

Yes. Creating flashcards and downloading PDFs is free, with no login.

Can I import cards from Excel, Quizlet or Anki?

You can paste a table or upload CSV / TSV text that you already have. XLSX spreadsheets, APKG decks and platform links cannot be opened directly. Add images separately; CSV / TSV import does not preserve a platform deck's media or special card types.

How do I print cards at the correct size?

Match the PDF's A4 or US Letter size in your printer settings and select 100% or Actual size, not Fit. Trial-print on ordinary paper and check with a ruler before printing the full set. Change the finished card size in Print settings if you need a different size.

How do I save cards to edit later?

Your browser saves the current draft automatically. Use Save cards to download an editable ZIP with text, images, crops and print settings. Use Open cards to edit that ZIP later. CSV and TSV exports contain text only.

Can I add pictures or non-English text?

Each face supports a PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 10 MB and 40 megapixels. Latin, Chinese, Japanese and Korean print fonts are included. Unsupported characters are flagged before export.
